Fraudulent claims cost insurers $189 million

A report by the Brazilian insurance confederation found that fraudulent claims cost insurers more than 723 million Brazilian real ($189 million) in 2018, Segs.com reported. The value of suspicious claims totaled BRL 5 billion or nearly 16% of overall claims. Total claims amounted to nearly BRL 33 billion in 2018.
