Vietnam to set up disaster center, records $870 million in losses
Posted On: Jun. 21, 2019 6:09 AM CSTVietnam plans to set up a natural disaster prevention and control center by the end of this year after catastrophes caused nearly $870 million in economic losses and killed 224 people in 2018, Xinhua reported citing sources. The country's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said that disasters such as typhoons, floods and landslides have caused nearly $15 million of losses and killed 23 people so far this year.
