Protests force retail stores, banks to down shutter

Retail stores of France-based Yves Saint Laurent S.A.S. and U.S.-based Apple Inc. among others and banks including China Citic Bank Corp, U.K.-based HSBC Bank P.L.C. and Standard Chartered Bank closed their branches in Hong Kong temporarily. Protesters blocked roads and clashed with police over a proposed extradition law.
