Cargo truck attacks could force firms to shun Durban port

Experts said that African companies could avoid Durban port after recent cargo truck-related attacks on the N3 highway caused 1.2 billion South African rands ($81 million) worth of damage, Times Live reported. Elka du Piesanie, an official at South Africa-based The Hollard Insurance Co. Ltd., said that the insurer received ZAR 237 million worth of cargo claims between Nov. 2018 and May, this year of which truck attack-related claims accounted for 11%.
