Huawei tells Foxconn to halt smartphone production lines

Chinese tech giant Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. has asked Taiwan-based electronics company Foxconn Technology Group to stop several smartphone production lines due to recent U.S. sanctions, Digit reported citing sources. Huawei plans to scale back its production after the United States restricted its access to U.S. firms and technologies. Foxconn recently went on a hiring spree to accommodate the growing demand for Huawei phones.
