Jeremy Cox, executive chair of the Bermuda Monetary Authority, will receive the Fred Reiss Lifetime Achievement Award next month at the Bermuda Captive Conference, conference organizers announced Thursday.

Mr. Cox, who previously was Bermuda’s top regulator as registrar of companies, joined the BMA in 2002, was named CEO in 2010 — leading the domicile through its achievement of full equivalence with Europe’s Solvency II insurance regulatory regime in 2016 — and was named executive chair in January.

The award, which was launched in 2016, honors the late Mr. Reiss, who is widely regarded as a pioneer of the captive insurance sector. In 1962, he launched International Risk Management Ltd., Bermuda’s first captive manager.
