Ryan Specialty taps Aspen exec Emil Issavi

Long-time reinsurance executive Emil Issavi is leaving Bermuda-based Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd. to join Ryan Specialty Group LLC and its RSG Underwriting Managers LLC and Ryan Re Underwriting Managers units as a senior executive, the companies said Thursday.
New York-based Mr. Issavi, who joined Aspen in 2006, was previously president and chief underwriting officer and managing director of the Americas at Aspen Re, the companies said in a statement.
Christian Dunleavy, current managing director of Aspen Re and chief executive officer and chief underwriting officer of Aspen Bermuda Ltd., has been appointed to succeed Mr. Issavi and will join Aspen’s executive committee with immediate effect, the statement said.
Peter Emblin, currently managing director, London and global head of specialty, Aspen Re, has been appointed senior managing director of Aspen Re, the companies said.
Chicago-based Ryan Specialty Group and Columbus, Ohio-based insurer Nationwide recently formed Bermuda-based reinsurer Geneva Re Ltd., led by longtime industry executive Michael D. O’Halleran.
