Vancouver port strike threatens to disrupt firms' supply-chains

The Retail Council of Canada said that a full-blown strike at the Port of Vancouver could disrupt supply-chains for local businesses after waterfront workers staged a walkout at two container terminals on May 28, The Star reported. Members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union Canada went on strike at Vanterm and Deltaport terminals after new contract-related talks failed with B.C. Maritime Employers Association.
