Airlines could seek $580 million from Boeing for Max 8 groundings

The China Air Transport Association said that 13 Chinese airlines could seek $580 million from U.S.-based The Boeing Co. after groundings and delivery delays of its 737 Max 8 airplanes disrupted the carriers' operations, MyNews4.com reported. The Chinese government ordered airlines, Air China Ltd., China Eastern Airlines Corp. Ltd. and China Southern Airlines Co. Ltd. among others to ground 737 Max 8 aircrafts in March after recent crashes in Ethiopia and Indonesia.
