Something else to be grumpy aboutPosted On: May. 22, 2019 11:32 AM CST
The death of Grumpy Cat, the evil-eyed pessimistic celebrity kitty made famous in such social media memes as “I had fun once; it was awful” and “I like the sound you make when you shut up” raised a question on Marketwatch.com this week: are celebrity pets insurable?
Marnie the Dog tail wag? Not so fast.
The answer just so happens to have been Grumpy Cat’s favorite word: “No.” (According to one of Grumpy Cat’s books.)
“Pet life insurance exists, but it’s a rarely offered product and would be of little help to the owners of a famous pooch or kitty,” Marketwatch reported. “It’s not designed to cover lost financial opportunities related to pets who double as income generators for their owners.”
