Korean Re sets up Swiss unit, eyes Latin America

Korean Reinsurance Co. has set up its third overseas subsidiary in Switzerland to enter the European insurance market and boost profitability, The Korea Times reported. Korean Re Switzerland A.G. will write property/casualty reinsurance business starting June. Korean Re is also considering expanding its operations in South America and offset declining profits in its saturated domestic market.
