Huawei ramps up business continuity plans to counter sanctions
Posted On: May. 20, 2019 6:47 AM CSTChinese telecom giant Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. has stockpiled enough chips and other vital components to keep its business running for at least three months in anticipation of recent U.S. sanctions, The National reported citing sources. The sanctions could hamper Huawei's operations, disrupt technology supply-chains and delay the rollout of critical 5G wireless networks worldwide, the sources said. Huawei has been preparing sanctions-related business continuity plans since at least the middle of 2018, by hoarding components and designing its own chips, the sources added.
