Japan issues volcanic alert for Mount Hakone

Japanese authorities closed roads in the Kanagawa Prefecture after issuing a volcanic alert for Mount Hakone on May 19, Japan Today reported. after seismic activity increased near Tokyo. The Japan Meteorological Agency said that it recorded 48 volcanic earthquakes in the region and warned of a possible eruption and volcanic cinders in areas around Owakudani.
