China Re to launch insurance for firms involved in Belt and Road

China Reinsurance (Group) Corp. plans to launch domestic political violence insurance for Chinese businesses involved in the construction of the Belt and Road initiative, Asia Insurance Review reported. The risks that Chinese companies involved in BRI projects face include conventional property risk, engineering construction risks, personal accidental risk, political changes, terrorism, infectious diseases, kidnapping for ransom and others.
