Fires rage through more than 41,000 hectares of forests in Russia

The Federal Aerial Forest Protection Service of Russia said that nearly 41,500 hectares of forests are raging with fire in the country, TASS reports. The biggest wildfires were registered in the Trans-Baikal Region (nearly 18,300 hectares), Irkutsk Region (about 10,000 hectares) and Kurgan Region (6,700 hectares). A state of emergency in effect in the Kurgan Region, the Trans-Baikal Region, two districts of the Chelyabinsk Region, two districts of the Irkutsk Region, one district of the Krasnoyarsk Region and one district in the Tuva Region.
