Mexico declares emergency in 11 municipalities

Mexican authorities have declared emergencies in 11 municipalities in the state of Oaxaca due to forest fires, The Pioneer reports citing the Associated Press. Forest fires were also reported in Valle de Bravo and Tepoztlan towns near Mexico City, while 300 firefighters battled five blazes outside Guadalajara. The National Forest Commission said that fire destroyed more than 100,000 acres of forest in the first three months of the year.
