Forest fires ravage eastern Russia

Russia's Aerial Forest Protection Service said that 100 wildfires are blazing across 52,400 hectares of land in the country's eastern regions including Kurgan, Irkutsk, Amur and Zabaikalsky, Tass reported. The agency said that it has extinguished nearly 250 fires across 40,000 hectares of forests so far. The authorities have declared a state of emergency in the Kurgan and Zabaikalsky regions.
