BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

David Batchelor

Talbot Group, the Lloyd’s of London insurer and reinsurer American International Group Inc. acquired through its 2018 purchase of Validus Holdings Ltd., appointed former Marsh LLC executive David Batchelor as nonexecutive chairman, replacing Rupert Atkin.

Mr. Batchelor’s appointment will be effective following regulatory and Lloyd’s approval, AIG said in a statement.

Mr. Atkin, a founder of Talbot, will step down after 28 years, the statement said, adding he was the active underwriter of syndicate 1183 from 1991 until 2007. Following Validus’ acquisition of Talbot in 2007, he became CEO, a role he held for nine years before becoming chairman.

Mr. Batchelor retired from Marsh earlier this year, where he spent 17 years, most recently as vice chairman, the statement said.
