Multiple disasters obscured typhoon Jebi's impact: Swiss Re

Swiss Re Ltd. said that the insurance industry failed to estimate typhoon Jebi's damage tab due to overlapping losses related to typhoon Trami and the Osaka earthquake, Artemis.bm reports. John Dacey, chief financial officer at Swiss Re, said that multiple catastrophes increased complexities related to loss reporting while construction for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics pushed up claims-related losses.
