BMS hires executive from JLT Re

BMS Group Ltd. recruited Pete Chandler from JLT Re to be president of BMS’s U.S. reinsurance operations, effective May 27, the broker said in a statement Friday.

Mr. Chandler, who succeeds Steve Korducki, now U.S. reinsurance CEO, will also join the BMS U.S. board, subject to regulatory approval, the statement said. He will be based in San Francisco and report to Mr. Korducki.

At JLT Re, Mr. Chandler was deputy CEO of the U.S. reinsurance broking arm of the group.

“Pete is one of the most experienced reinsurance brokers in the market and will be a huge asset to the BMS U.S. team,” Nick Cook, CEO of BMS Group, said in the statement. “I am pleased to announce his appointment today and look forward to working with him and Steve Korducki to grow our U.S. reinsurance arm.”
