India braces for cyclone, suspends operations at two ports

Indian authorities shut operations at the ports of Paradip and Visakhapatnam on May 1 ahead of an impending cyclone which is expected to hit the country's east coast on May 3, Reuters reported. The authorities told all ships in the ports to move out to sea to avoid storm-related damage. The government is also evacuating hundreds of thousands of people in the state of Odisha and has advised tourists to leave coastal regions.
