Durban floods likely to cause $77 million of damage

Willies Mchunu, premier of the province of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa, said that recent floods are likely to have caused about 1.1 billion South African rand ($77 million) worth of damage in Durban, The Citizen reported citing sources. Mr. Mchunu said that the floods destroyed houses, roads, and other infrastructure and killed 70 people across the municipalities of eThekwini, Ilembe, Ugu, and King Cetshwayo.
