France-based reinsurer Scor S.E.'s Japan typhoon damage bill has grown to €53 million ($59 million), much higher than it had anticipated, and reflecting an overall industry trend of claims cost creep for the disasters, Artemis.bm reported citing sources. The insurance industry's losses have more than doubled for typhoon Trami and tripled for typhoon Jebi compared with risk modeling firms' initial damage estimates, the sources said.
