Tata Steel said that the explosion occurred after a train spilled its cargo of molten metal on railway tracks between the plant's engineering shops and locomotive repair shops. Stephen Davies, an official at Tata Steel, said that the steelmaker halted production at two blast furnaces for safety-related checks.
