El Nino-related drought causes $153 million of crop damage

The Philippine's Department of Agriculture said that drought related to the El Nino weather pattern has caused nearly 8 billion Philippine pesos ($153 million) worth of crop damage so far this year, Rappler reported. Philippine Crop Insurance Corp. has settled PHP 264.5 million worth of farmers' claims.
