Storms, drought cause $3 billion of damage to forests

Germany's Ministry of Agriculture said that storms, droughts and beetle infestations are likely to have caused nearly $3 billion worth of damage between January 2018 and March this year, DW.com reported. The catastrophes damaged 114,000 hectares or about 1% of Germany's forested area, the ministry added.
