Operator gets $82 million payout for quake-damaged railway line

New Zealand-based KiwiRail Holdings Ltd. said that insurers had paid it $125 million New Zealand ($82.5 million for claims related to an earthquake-damaged railway line, Stuff.co.nz reported. The rail operator said that repair costs for the Main North Line between Christchurch and Picton are likely to total NZD 500 million and the work is expected to continue until the middle of 2020.
