Nuclear plants could face suspension over anti-terrorism measures

Japan's nuclear regulator will not allow power companies to operate nuclear reactors if they fail to implement anti-terrorism safety measures within specified deadlines, The Mainichi reported. Under the new policy, Japan's nuclear plant operators are required to build facilities within five years of regulatory approval to prevent massive release of radioactive materials if the units come under terrorist attacks.
