Bali airport on high alert after Mount Agung erupts

Indonesian authorities have placed the Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali on high alert after the Mount Agung volcano erupted twice on April 21, Jakarta Globe reported. The volcano emitted a column of ash more than 6,000 meters into the air. The ash fallout affected several parts of the island including Karangasem, Badung, and Denpasar and could also damage jet engines, the authorities added.
