Pandemics, climate change among new risks for insurers

The Moroccan insurance and reinsurance federation said that local insurers are likely to face new risks such as climate change and pandemics due to global warming and increasing migration, Middle East Insurance Review reported. Manuela Zweimueller, an official at the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority, said that insurers also need to include cyber resilience in their risk mitigation strategies due to increasing digitization worldwide.
