Chinese chemical plant explosion disrupts Lonza's supply-chain

A chemical plant explosion and anti-pollution campaigns in China disrupted Swiss pharmaceutical giant Lonza Group Ltd.'s supply chain and cut into the company's sales in the first quarter, Reuters reported. Marc Funk, chief executive of Lonza, said that the explosion at Tianjiayi Chemical Co. Ltd's plant on March 21 caused a raw materials shortage at Lonza's specialty ingredients division.
