Fire destroys two million bottles of French wine

A fire broke out at France-based winemaker Sovex Grands Chateaux S.A.S.' warehouse in Bordeaux on April 16, destroying two million bottles of wine, The Local.fr reported citing sources. The fire is likely to have started in the warehouse's false ceiling which then collapsed on pallets and crates of alcohol, the sources said. Sovex Grands Chateaux is currently trying to assess the damage with its insurers.
