Daimler faces probe over new emissions cheating software

Germany-based Daimler A.G. is facing a new probe after authorities uncovered a previously unknown type of software in some vehicles to reduce emissions of nitrogen oxide during test conditions, Phys.org reported citing sources. Germany's motor transport authority found the software in about 60,000 vehicles of the Mercedes-Benz GLK 220 CDI models. The vehicles were produced between 2012 and 2015.
