Asean members urged to collaborate on disaster risk insurance

The Philippines called on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations' members to collaborate on disaster-risk financing and insurance strategies to mitigate catastrophe-related losses, Business Mirror reported. Carlos G. Dominguez III, the Philippines' finance secretary, urged Asean members to liberalize catastrophe risk insurance to give insurers greater access to the segment and develop disaster risk modeling systems.
