Consolidation to continue among insurers: Ernst and Young

U.S.-based consultancy firm Ernst and Young L.L.P. said that the global insurer and reinsurer consolidation trend is likely to continue this year, The Royal Gazette reported. Richard Battersby, an official at Ernst and Young, said that several insurers could consider selling or putting some of their book of business into run-off and using the capital to make acquisitions.
