Liberty Mutual appoints global risk executive

Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. named Janelle Edem chief of staff, global risk solutions, the Boston-based insurer said Monday.

Ms. Edem, a 14-year veteran of Liberty Mutual, will report to Dennis Langwell, president, global risk solutions, the company said in a statement.

Ms. Edem has held various leadership roles at Liberty Mutual including head of claims analytics and reporting, and most recently served as general manager, UPS distribution and service, for the national insurance operation of global risk solutions, the statement said.

Ms. Edem is also active in the company’s employee resource groups that foster an inclusive culture among staff, the statement said.

She currently co-chairs the careers subcommittee of the WE@Liberty + Allies employee resource group, which helps empower women and allies through mentorship programs, and she was the first co-executive sponsor of the company’s employee resource group for staff of African descent and allies, the statement said.
