Arch Capital acquires Axiom Underwriting Agency

Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer Arch Capital Group Ltd.'s unit has acquired U.K.-based Axiom Underwriting Agency Ltd. to expand its operations in the United Kingdom, The Royal Gazette reported. Arch Insurance (UK) Ltd. had initially purchased a 60% stake in Axiom in 2015. Under the deal, Axiom will become part of the recently formed Arch U.K. regional division, focused on commercial property/casualty, professional liability, and travel among other segments.
