Iranian authorities have declared a state of emergency in several flood-hit provinces after the disaster damaged electricity and telecommunication infrastructure and washed away roads across the country, Al Jazeera reported. Gholamreza Shariati, governor of Khuzestan, said that floods forced authorities to evacuate 70 villages in the province after dams filled up to more than 95% of their capacity.
