Asian governments urged to use insurance to mitigate disaster risk

A report by Philippines-based Asian Development Bank called on governments in the region to build disaster-resistant infrastructure and use insurance to mitigate increasing catastrophe-related losses, Xinhua reported. The report said that insurance had covered only around 8% of Asia's catastrophe losses since 1980.
