El Nino-related drought causes nearly $100 million of crop damage

The Philippines Department of Agriculture said that El Nino-related drought has caused more than 5 billion Philippine pesos ($96 million) worth of agricultural damage so far, The Inquirer reported. The department said that the weather phenomenon has affected 164,672 farmers and 177,743 hectares of land across the country.
