BMW, Peugeot to shut plants despite Brexit delay

Automakers including Germany-based BMW A.G. and France-based Peugeot S.A. are going ahead with contingency plans to shut their plants to prevent supply-chain disruptions, despite the postponement of Brexit, Reuters reported. BMW will close its plant for four weeks starting April 1, Peugeot will halt operation at its Vauxhall car factory for two weeks while U.K.-based Jaguar Land Rover Ltd. and Japan-based Honda Motor Co. Ltd. will shut their plants for a few days.
