GIC Re puts screws to primary carriers on fire risks

Several Indian insurers have increased rates that align with reinsurer General Insurance Corp. of India's rates for fire risks, Business Standard reported. GIC Re told primary insurers that it would selectively write reinsurance coverage based on industry and recommended they set certain rates if they want reinsurance coverage.
