Sompo promotes Gallagher to property/casualty CEO

Sompo International Holdings Ltd. said Monday it has promoted Christopher Gallagher, who was previously chief risk officer and group actuary of its commercial property/casualty business, to the newly created role of CEO of its commercial property/casualty business.
Mr. Gallagher, who is also a Sompo International director, will report in his new role to Nigel Frudd, who is CEO of Sompo International and senior executive officer, president and chairman of overseas mergers and acquisitions for Sompo Holdings, Sompo International said in a statement.
The Sompo commercial property/casualty executive leaders who used to report to Mr. Frudd now report to Mr. Gallagher, according to the statement.
Mr. Gallagher, who is based in Pembroke, Bermuda, joined Sompo in September 2015 as chief risk officer and group actuary, and previously held a similar role at Axis Capital Holdings Ltd.
