EPIC snags two execs from rival Beecher Carlson

EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants, the retail property, casualty insurance brokerage and employee benefits consultant, hired two brokers from rival Beecher Carlson Insurance Services LLC, EPIC said in statements Friday.

Chris Knight was named senior vice president, analytics and innovation in EPIC's growing integrated risk solutions consulting practice, one statement said. At Beecher Carlson in Atlanta, he served as vice president, analytics.

He will be based in Atlanta and report to Maurice Edwards, managing principal of EPIC's integrated risk solutions practice.

Vanessa Smiley was named senior vice president, operations in the integrated risk solutions consulting practice. At Beecher Carlson in Atlanta, she served as vice president, claims operations.

She will be based in Atlanta and report to Mr. Edwards.

Last April, former Beecher Carlson CEO Steve Denton joined EPIC Holdings Inc. as president.
