U.S.-based Weatherbell Analytics L.L.C. said that up to 15 storms are likely to occur in the Atlantic basin this year, with up to 7 likely to become hurricanes and 2 becoming super hurricanes, Artemis.bm reports. Joe Bastardi, a forecaster at the meteorological consultancy firm, said that the hurricane season's activity is likely to be below average if the El Nino weather phenomenon occurs this year.
