RIMS to hold insurtech competition at conference

The Risk & Insurance Management Society Inc. will hold its inaugural RIMS Tech, the Insurtech Competition at the RIMS 2019 Annual Conference & Exhibition in Boston, RIMS said in a statement Tuesday.

Competitors will converge in the Startup Stadium, a section of the RIMS Marketplace dedicated to emerging startup exhibitors, the statement said, with the winner announced at the RIMS Conference Finale on May 1.     

The presentations will be judged by a panel of risk professionals hosted by Audrey Rampinelli, CEO and co-founder of OnRamp Risk LLC, the statement said.

Judges include Barry Dillard, director for risk strategies, insurance and compliance, Walt Disney World Resorts; Alan Gier, global director for corporate risk management and insurance, General Motors Co.; Anja Rittling, risk manager for Ocean Spray Cranberries Inc.; Lori Seidenberg, global director for real assets insurance, BlackRock Inc.; and Liz Walker, director for enterprise risk and global insurance, Groupon Inc.
