Uptake of civil liability cover lukewarm in Algeria

The Algerian insurance brokers' union said that demand for civil liability insurance is weak despite mandatory cover for certain sectors such as small and medium-sized enterprises, Middle East Insurance Review reported citing sources. Boudraa Abdelaziz, the union's president, said that only freight carriers and private vehicles' drivers buy civil liability insurance due to regular monitoring on the roads and at checkpoints by the police.
