A Florida man accused in a $228,000 insurance fraud scheme at a rehab facility was hiding in Cuba for seven years and will finally face charges, Action News Jax reported Wednesday.

Randy Capote was arrested at Jacksonville International Airport this week after hiding in the communist state since a warrant was issued for his arrest in 2012, the news station reported.

The 32-year-old was charged with organized fraud and participating in an intentional automobile crash — which was part of his scheme to collect.

His charges also stem from when he worked as a massage therapist at Indian Rehabilitation Center Inc. in Jacksonville in 2010. Investigators say he had patients sign off on treatments they never received and then filed bogus insurance claims, the news outlet reported.
