Kenya Re looks to new markets to boost prospects

Kenya Reinsurance Corp. Ltd. is looking to open regional offices in new markets worldwide and expand its line of insurance products while higher claims and competition hamper its profitability, Business Daily reported. Jadiah Mwarania, chief executive of Kenya Re, said that several countries have domesticated their reinsurance markets or set up government-owned reinsurers that are eating into its business.
