Caribbean insurer sets up branch in Jamaica

Barbados-based Massy United Insurance Ltd. is opening a branch in New Kingston to enter the Jamaican general insurance market, Jamaica Gleaner reported. Winsome Gibbs will head the new branch along with operations in the Cayman Islands. Massy United currently operates in 18 islands in the English and Dutch-speaking Caribbean region and its revenue totaled nearly $2 billion in 2018.
